Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information ResForMe LLC ("ResForMe", "we", "us"), a company registered in New York, USA, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the resforme.com website, the ResForMe mentorship program, and the ResForMe research platform at app.resforme.com (also called "Pharos by ResForMe"). Questions at any time: hello@resforme.com.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run the mentorship program and the research platform. We never sell personal information, we never show ads, we never record mentoring sessions, and student work is never used to train AI models.
1. Information we collect
- Application and account information: the student's name, email address, date of birth, school level, and research interests; the parent or guardian's name and email address; account passwords (stored only in protected, hashed form).
- Mentoring and research work: messages between the student and their mentor, and the research documents and files the student chooses to share through the platform.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers. We keep records of payments, refunds, and subscription status.
- Technical information: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and to keep the service running. The resforme.com website uses Google Analytics to understand overall visitor traffic.
2. Google user data (Google Drive connection)
On app.resforme.com, a student can connect their Google account so their research documents can receive feedback. This section explains exactly how that works.
- What we ask for: the smallest access that works. We request the student's basic Google profile (name and email, for sign-in) and the
drive.file permission, which gives access only to the one research folder and the files the student or the platform creates or opens there. We can never see the rest of the student's Google Drive.
- What we do with it: we read the research documents in that folder to evaluate the work and give feedback, and we write feedback and roadmap documents into the same folder.
- How it is protected: Google access tokens are encrypted at rest. The student or parent can disconnect Google at any time in the platform settings, or revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting stops all access immediately.
- What we never do with it: we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not let humans read it except with permission for support, or where needed for security or to comply with the law, and we do not transfer it to others except to provide the service as described here.
3. How AI is used, and what it is never used for
The research platform uses AI services to evaluate student work and produce feedback, progress summaries, and suggested next steps. This processing happens under contracts that forbid our AI providers from using student data to train their models. To be plain: student work, messages, and personal information are never used to train AI models, by us or by anyone we work with. Mentoring video calls are never recorded.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the platform work, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe (payments and billing)
- Google (sign-in and the Drive folder connection described above; Google Analytics on the website)
- DigitalOcean (secure hosting, located in the USA)
- Resend (sending service emails such as invitations and password resets)
- Anthropic (AI evaluation of research work, under a no-training contract)
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a student or the security of the service. We never sell personal information and never share it for advertising.
5. Children and parental consent
ResForMe is designed for secondary and high school students, typically ages 13 to 18, and is not directed to children under 13. Participants under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian. On the research platform, the parent or guardian creates the family account first and invites the student, so a parent is involved from the very first step and can see the student's progress, manage billing, and request export or deletion of the family's data.
6. Keeping and deleting your information
- We keep personal information while the account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service.
- A parent or student can request a copy of their data (export) or ask us to delete the account at any time, either in the platform settings or by emailing hello@resforme.com. Deletion requests have a short waiting period so an accidental request can be cancelled, and then the data is removed.
- Some records must be kept longer where the law requires it, for example payment and tax records.
7. Security
All traffic to our sites is encrypted (HTTPS). Google access tokens are encrypted at rest, staff and administrator accounts require multi-factor authentication, administrative actions are logged, and the database is backed up nightly to encrypted, offsite storage.
8. International users
ResForMe serves students worldwide. Personal information is processed and stored in the United States. Wherever you live, we honor the same rights for everyone: you can ask what information we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy of it, or have it deleted, by contacting hello@resforme.com.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active participants by email and update the date at the top of this page.
